Castaway News
1) 3 fish limit (largemouth and smallmouth bass only).
 
2) Artificial bait only.
 
3) No trolling. One line in the water per person at a time.
 
4) $20.00 membership fee per boat.
 
5) A $40.00 Classic fee per boat will be collected to join the Castaway tournaments. This fee will be the prize money for the Castaway teams that fish the Classic. The Classic will be held on a Saturday for 8 hours with a 5 bass limit. Only the top 5 teams of the Thursday night tournaments will qualify for the Classic. If a top 5 team is unable to fish, then the 6th place team will fish, ect... There will be 1 "luck of the draw" entry drawn at the banquet. You must be present and have fished at least 1/2 of the tournaments to qualify for the "luck of the draw". The directors boat gets a free pass to the classic.
 
6) $25.00 per boat will be collected every Thursday night prior to fishing (cash only). $5.00 per boat will be paid to Big Bass. The remainder will be paid as follows:  up to 15 boats... 50%-1st place 30%-2nd place & 20%-3rd place.  15 boats & up...40%-1st place, 30%-2nd place, 20%-3rd place, & 10%- 4th place.  The Castaway Bass Club is a 100% "payback" club!
 
7) Membership and Classic fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
 
8) Castaway Angler of the Year and Classic standings will be determined by total weight for the season.
 
9) Teams returning to launch 1-5 minutes late will receive a 1lb per minute penalty. Teams returning more than 5 minutes late will not be allowed to weigh-in.
 
10) Any team caught fishing from a surface other than the boat will not be allowed to weigh-in.
 
11) Any team or member that acts in a manner that is threatening or unsafe to another team or member as well as the general public will not be allowed to weigh-in and could have their membership revoked.
 
12) There will be a 1/2lb penalty per dead fish. Only one dead fish per tournament, per team. No dead fish will qualify for the Big Bass.
 
13) 2 people per boat. Substitutes will be allowed but all substitutes must pay a one time $10.00 membership fee and sign a waiver. A substitute must have fished at least 2 tournaments to substitute in the Classic.
 
14) Only the director's instruments will be used for weighing and measuring at weigh-in. Any member can call for a fish to be measured.
 
15) All livewells will be checked prior to fishing.
 
16) Everyone must sign a "Membership Form" to participate in Castaway tournaments.
 
17) All fish must be released (unless "Critter Pot" becomes an option, then the critter can be kept). Critter pot will be an additional $2.00 a boat.
 
18) All teams must abide by all state and local laws. If you recieve a ticket on the water, you will be disqualified.
 
19) All tournaments will start at 6:00pm and end at 9:00pm unless otherwise instructed by the directors.
 
20) One fish per team qualifies for the Big Bass Pot. Only one Big Bass entry will be weighed per team. All ties in total weight at any tournament will be decided by which team has the largest fish. Largest fish will be decided by weight at all Castaway tournaments. No dead fish may quailify for "Big Bass" or largest fish.
 
21) Any partners that dissolve their partnership prior to season end, will split their total weight accumulated to that point. If newly formed partners want to continue to fish for the The Angler of the Year and Classic Tournament, the new member must pay the Classic fee of $20.00 and a $10.00 membership fee.
 
22) Any discrepancies concerning a tournament, or one of the tournament rules, will be decided by the tournament directors and 3 anglers designated by the directors. Any protest must be made before the end of that days tournament weigh-in.
 
23) Any tie in total weight at the end of the season for Angler of the Year and Classic standings will be decided by total fish caught for the year.  If a tie still exsists, then the tie will be broke by who caught the largest bass for the year.
 
24) Failure to abide by any of these rules may result in termination of membership.
 
25) No late entries. Exceptions can be made by the director or co-director depending on the situation. It will be the responsibility of the late team to contact the directors or co-director on the water, before fishing, to pay the entry fee and have their livewell checked.
 
26) No fishing on the "Classic Lake"  7 days prior the tournament date.
 
27) No fishing on a lake the day of a tournament.
